The Snowman’s Magic Hat graphictutor work 25 Dec Written By IWEC INDONESIA Written and illustrated by Miristika Melfri Alt. Text: Yesterday, my sister and I were building a snowman. There was not much to talk about. Until, she broke the silence with a question. She asked why a snowman didn’t have legs. And this one song came up in my mind. Alt. Text: I told her that what this snowman needed was a magical top hat so it could dance around. Well, of course she didn’t believe it. We both laughed at such nonsense. But then, “I hope I have that magical hat one day,” she said. Alt. Text: I didn’t know how to react at the moment. This year had not been so kind to both of us, especially my little sister. It was her first winter with only one leg. I couldn’t understand her struggle but I knew she was trying her best. Alt. Text: A dream to be able to walk normally again, a dream to have that magical hat so she could run and play and snow fight with all of her friends. But it was just a dream. Alt. Text: Then my sister taught me that I didn’t need all magical things in the world. What I really needed was sincere and huge courage in my heart. “Why do you need a magical hat that only appears once a year, when you have these magical crutches that actually can help you every day?” she asked. Alt. Text: She was right. Even though I had one leg and I walked slower than others, I kept moving. Yes, it was hard. But the magical thing that a human can always have, is a strong and determined heart. comiccomic stripcomic storygraphic storysnowwinterdisabilitychristmaslovefamilycourageheartwarming IWEC INDONESIA
